What IS THE affordable Housing GUARANTEE ACT?
The San Francisco Affordable Housing Guarantee Act is a 2026 ballot measure campaign led by housing advocates and neighbors.
This measure dedicates existing revenue collected from the city’s transfer tax on ultra-luxury real estate deals worth over $10 million (like mega-mansions and skyscrapers) to fund affordable housing and emergency rental assistance to keep families housed.
This measure will also introduce an exemption from the current transfer taxes for new multi-family housing developments to encourage construction.
